Round stickers and circle labels
Round is the classic label shape. It suits lids, envelope seals, product marks, giveaways and event badges, and it is among the most popular shapes that businesses order. A circle has no corners to lift, so round stickers stay put well on packaging and handle being knocked about.
Choosing your diameter
| Diameter | Typical use |
|---|---|
| 25 to 37 mm | Envelope and tissue seals, small jars, discreet logos |
| 50 mm | Jam-jar lids, box seals, price stickers |
| 75 mm | Large lids, giveaways, café takeaway packaging |
| 100 mm and up | Promotional stickers and floor or window dots |
Measure the lid or space, and leave a small margin around the edge. A sticker that matches the exact width of a lid can catch and lift, so choose a size slightly smaller.
Jars, lids and food packaging
Round labels are often used on lids alongside a bottle label or an oval label on the jar. If you are labelling food, remember the legal information must go somewhere, and a small round sticker cannot always hold it. A common solution is to use a small round brand mark on the lid and a rectangle label on the back.
Materials
- Gloss paper for bright packaging and promotional stickers
- Matt paper for a softer look and for writing on
- Kraft-style paper for natural and handmade products, if the design suits it
- Vinyl for water bottles, outdoor use and anything that will be chilled or washed
- Clear for seals on glass or coloured packaging
Ask us if your label will touch food directly or be exposed to heat, as those jobs need a specialist material.
Circles in your artwork
A circle shows up small errors. Keep key text inside a safe zone of 3 mm from the edge. Curved text around the rim looks professional, but it needs to be legible, so avoid thin fonts. Thin borders at the very edge are hard to cut evenly, so go for a thicker border or none at all. We can set up your design free of charge when we print it.
Weddings, party bags and favours
Round stickers are also popular for sealing invitations and favours, often with the couple's initials and the date. For short runs, a sheet of 24 or so can be a simple, inexpensive way to make plain packaging look personal. See also our wedding stationery.
Ordering
Tell us the diameter, quantity, material and when you need them. Short paper runs can often be printed the same day if your file is ready, so phone us early in the day if you have a tight deadline. We can send your stickers anywhere in the UK for a quoted charge.
