Rigid board materials compared
Most confusion comes from the board names. Foam board is a light card-faced foam for short-term indoor use. Foamex is a harder PVC foam, and much more durable. Correx is a fluted plastic, like corrugated cardboard but waterproof. Dibond is a sandwich of aluminium around a plastic core, and it lasts the longest outdoors.
Sizing and permission
Measure the space, then think about the distance from which the sign will be read. Larger text is nearly always better. Permanent shop signs, illuminated signs and anything placed on a pavement can need council consent, so read our note on pavement sign rules and check with your local council if you are unsure.
We set up artwork for free when we print the job. Many banners and boards can be turned round quickly, so call with your deadline.
