Outdoor PVC banners for shops and events
A PVC banner is the most affordable way to make something large and weatherproof. Shops use them for grand openings and sales. Schools hang them on railings. Builders tie them to scaffolding. Families order them for milestone birthdays and welcome-home parties. Each banner is printed in full colour on a tough, flexible material that can be folded or rolled up and used again.

Eyelets, hems and hanging
Hems strengthen the edges, and eyelets give you secure fixing points. Tell us how you intend to hang your banner and we will suggest the right number of eyelets. In general:
- On railings or scaffolding, use cable ties through every eyelet.
- On a wall or shop front, use screws with washers or hooks fixed into the masonry.
- Between two posts, use rope or bungee ties, with some give so that wind can pass.
Wind is the main enemy of a banner. In exposed spots, ask us about a mesh material, or keep the banner tight and well fixed along all edges.
PVC, vinyl and mesh banners
"Vinyl banner" and "PVC banner" normally refer to the same type of product in the UK, and we can advise you if you have seen a particular spec. Mesh banners have tiny holes that let wind through, which is why they are used on scaffolding and fences. If you only need something for indoors, and for the short term, a roller banner is usually a better display option.
Designing for a distance
A banner is usually read from across a road or from a moving car, so keep it to one message. As a rough guide, letters 10 cm tall can be read from about 30 metres. Use dark text on a light background or the reverse, and avoid script fonts. Your name, your offer and a phone number or web address are enough. Use a logo in vector form if you can, because a small logo from a website is likely to look blurry at banner size.

Personalised banners for parties
Birthday, anniversary, graduation and welcome-home banners are straightforward to print one at a time. A family photo can look lovely, as long as you send the original high-resolution file. Check the spelling of the names, then double-check the date.
Permissions
Your own property is usually straightforward for a temporary banner, though long-term advertising can fall under local planning rules. Always get the permission of the landlord or the owner of the fence. Check with your local council, particularly for anything on or over a public highway.
How long does it take?
Ready artwork can often be printed quickly, sometimes the same day if you get in touch early. Hemming and eyelets take a little longer. Call us with your deadline and we will tell you honestly whether it is possible. Banners can be collected from Gatton Road or sent anywhere in the UK for a quoted charge.
