Stickers for cars and vans

A van parked on a street can be seen by thousands of people in a week, and it is one of the cheapest forms of local advertising. We produce vinyl lettering, logos and printed stickers for tradespeople, couriers, cleaning companies and other local businesses, as well as one-off stickers for personal cars.

What you can put on a vehicle

  • Cut vinyl lettering for your name, trade, phone number and website. Clean and traditional, it also lasts well.
  • Printed vinyl logos for colourful or detailed artwork.
  • Rear window stickers for a large message on the back of a van or a car.
  • Fleet numbers and safety messages, such as "How's my driving?" panels or reversing warnings.
  • Bumper and personal car stickers in small sizes.

For a full wrap, we can talk through your options, but the work and fitting are different from a sticker job. For a removable option, consider magnetic signs.

What works on a van

Your layout depends on the type of van, but the key rule is that people will read it as you drive past. Your trade and your phone number should be readable at a glance. Large text is more valuable than a long list of services. Avoid putting graphics across door shuts, panel gaps, handles or deep ridges, and use the flat areas of the panels first. Take a photo of the side and rear of your vehicle, and we can help plan a layout.

Fitting tips

  1. Wash the panel, then wipe it with an alcohol-based cleaner to remove wax.
  2. Choose a dry day with temperatures above about 10°C. A cold, wet surface will not bond well.
  3. Tape the sticker in place and step back to check it is straight before you peel.
  4. Press from the centre outwards with a soft card.
  5. Wait at least a day before washing the vehicle, and avoid pressure washing around the edges.

Lease vehicles and removal

Check your lease or finance agreement, as some require approval for added graphics. Quality vinyl usually comes off with a little heat, although paint that has faded around a sticker can leave a visible outline after many years. If you only use your vehicle for work part of the time, magnetic signs might suit you better.

Legal points

Do not cover the driver's view through any window, and check the lighting, number plate and reflective rules for your vehicle. Anything claiming a professional registration should show correct details. If in doubt, confirm with your insurer that your cover allows for business use.

Ordering

Send us your logo, your wording, your vehicle's make and model, and a photo. We can prepare the artwork free of charge when we print and show you a proof. Simple stickers can often be made quickly, so phone us if you have just got a new van and want it on the road soon.

Questions we hear about vehicle stickers

What should I put on my van?

Your trade, phone number and a short website address are usually enough. Keep them large, and put them on flat panels.

How long do van stickers last?

Good outdoor-grade vinyl often lasts for years, depending on sunlight, washing and how well it was applied.

Can you print a full van wrap?

Tell us what you want to achieve, and we can talk through the options. Full wraps are a specialist fitting job and are quoted individually.

Will stickers damage the paint?

Good-quality vinyl usually comes off cleanly with a little heat. Older paint may fade around a sticker over time, which can leave an outline.
