Balloons with your name on them

Printed balloons add a sense of occasion at a low cost. They are used for shop openings, school fairs, children's parties, charity days, political campaigns and product launches. Children carrying your balloon around a fair is hard-to-beat advertising, and at a party, a printed name or age makes things feel personal.

Latex or foil?

Latex Foil
Cost Low, good for big numbers Higher per balloon
Print Usually one or two colours Full colour possible
Float time Hours, depending on treatment Days or longer
Best for Fairs, giveaways Parties, displays, shop windows

Choose a printed latex balloon for large giveaways, and foil for feature displays. Natural latex is biodegradable over time, but it can still harm wildlife if released.

Designing for a round surface

A balloon stretches as it is inflated, so the artwork gets larger and more distorted. Keep it simple: a bold logo or one short line works best. Fine text can break up, and colours become lighter as the latex stretches. Ask for a sample if the colour needs to be exact.

Helium and safety

  • Helium balloons float for a limited time. Standard latex balloons often last for less than a day. Timing the inflation close to the event helps.
  • Foil balloons conduct electricity, so never release them or let them near overhead power lines.
  • Never release balloons into the sky. Many councils and venues discourage or ban this, because of the danger to wildlife and livestock.
  • Uninflated balloons are a choking hazard for young children. Keep them away from under-8s, and supervise children carefully.
  • Latex allergies exist, so foil may be a better option in healthcare or childcare settings.

How many do you need?

Add 10 to 15% to your count, as some balloons always burst when they are being filled. If you are giving them out at an event, you might want balloons on sticks rather than with helium, which avoids carrying heavy gas cylinders.

Ordering

Send your logo or wording and tell us how many you need and the colour of balloon you want. Printed balloons are made to order and may have a minimum order, so tell us your event date early. Artwork is set up free of charge when we print the job. If you only need a few for a party, a personalised banner could be a better match.

Questions we hear about printed balloons

What is the minimum order for printed balloons?

Printed latex balloons usually have a minimum. Tell us how many you need and we will check what is possible.

How long do helium balloons float?

Standard latex balloons usually last less than a day, and foil balloons last days or longer.

Can you print a photo on a balloon?

On foil, it is sometimes possible. Latex stretches too much for photos, so bold logos and text work better.

Are balloons safe for children's events?

With care. Uninflated balloons are a choking hazard for young children, and some people have latex allergies.
