A printed paper bag finishes the sale and advertises your shop on the way home. Boutiques, delis, bakeries, florists, pharmacies and takeaways all use them, and bags are often the cheapest way to make a small brand look established.

Kraft (brown) has a natural feel and suits food and eco-minded brands. White gives brighter colours. Black or other coloured stocks have a premium look, but need different inks.
Sizes and print areas
Choose a size to fit your biggest common item, with a little room to spare. Most retailers keep two or three sizes to avoid using a large bag for a small item. A single-colour logo on the front of a kraft bag is often the most cost-effective choice, and it can look great. Full colour usually costs more, particularly on larger quantities. Printing on kraft paper is different from printing on white, because the brown background shows through lighter colours. Dark inks look best.
Food packaging
If your bag touches food directly, it needs to be made from food-safe materials, using suitable inks. Tell us so that we can check this before ordering. Greaseproof options are available for pastries and hot items. A sticker on a plain bag can also be a cost-effective alternative, and it leaves you free to change designs. Sustainability
Paper bags are recyclable when clean, and customers often see them as a better option than plastic. Thicker bags can be reused many times, which keeps your brand in view for longer.
Ordering
Fully printed bags usually have a minimum order and are made to order, which may take some weeks. For small quantities or a quick start, ask about stickers or a stamp on plain bags. Send your logo and tell us the size, type and quantity. Artwork is set up free of charge when we print the job, and we will show you a proof.

What is the minimum order for printed paper bags?
It depends on the bag and print method. Fully printed bags normally have a minimum. Stickers on plain bags are a good option for small runs.
Are your bags food safe?

Can you print on kraft paper in colour?
Yes, but the brown background shows through lighter inks. Dark colours usually look the best.
Are printed paper bags recyclable?
Clean paper bags generally are. Bags with plastic lamination or ribbon handles may need those parts removed.
