Polo shirts with your logo
A polo shirt is a good compromise between smart and practical. It looks more professional than a T-shirt, and it is easier to live with than a shirt and tie. That is why it is the standard uniform for trades, gardeners, cleaners, shops, care workers, gym staff and school groups.
Printed or embroidered?
Embroidery is the traditional choice. It looks premium, lasts through many washes and suits a logo on the left chest. Very small text and fine detail may not stitch well, so a simplified logo often works better.
Printing is often a better fit for colourful logos with fine detail, or for large designs on the back. It can also be more cost-effective for a one-off or a short run.
Many businesses use embroidery on the chest and a large print on the back, showing their phone number or website, so that the wearer is advertising the business while working.
Choosing a polo
- Cotton feels comfortable, but it needs more care and can shrink a little.
- Poly-cotton is a good all-rounder for workwear, as it holds its shape and washes well.
- Polyester or performance fabric wicks moisture and suits sports and physical work.
- Women's fit is available, along with long-sleeve options.
Choose a colour that hides the usual dirt and stains from your work. Dark colours are the safest, but check that your logo contrasts well with the garment. If your logo is dark, you may need a lighter polo, or a one-colour white version of your logo.
Sizing a team
Take sizes before you order, and ask us for a size chart from the brand you are ordering, as sizing varies. If you are not sure, it can help to borrow a sample. Polos in cotton can shrink slightly on their first wash, so keep this in mind if someone is between sizes.
Ordering
Send your logo, a list of sizes and the colour you want. Embroidery usually needs your logo to be digitised before it can be stitched, and this may have a one-off cost. We will be clear about that in your quote, and we can reuse the file next time. Otherwise, setting up your artwork is free when we print the job. Embroidery takes a little longer than print, so please let us know your deadline. Matching bodywarmers or workwear can be added at any time.
Questions we hear about polo shirts
Should I print or embroider my polo shirts?
Embroidery looks premium and lasts well for a chest logo. Printing is better for complex colour and larger back designs, and it is often cheaper on short runs.
Can I order one polo shirt?
Yes. Tell us the design and size and we will quote for it. A one-off embroidery may include a set-up cost.
Do you offer women's fit polos?
Yes. Many ranges come in a women's fit. Check the size chart, as the sizing can be different.
Will the logo wash out?
Good embroidery or print will last well if you follow the care label. Avoid high temperatures and tumble drying where possible.
