Printed loyalty cards that get used
A stamp card is one of the cheapest ways of bringing a customer back. For a cafe, barber, nail bar, car wash or takeaway, it takes almost no training and works without an app. We print them at business card size, so that they sit in a wallet alongside bank cards.
The detail people forget: the stamp side
The card has to take ink. Gloss makes stamp ink smudge and sit wet on the surface, so we normally suggest an uncoated or matt back, with any colour or shine kept to the front. If you use a pen rather than a stamp, an uncoated side is still the safest option. If you have your stamp already, bring it along, and we can check how it behaves on a sample before printing the full run.
Setting up the offer
- Keep the reward clear. "Your tenth coffee free" is better than "earn points towards rewards".
- Keep it achievable. Eight to ten visits suits a weekly purchase. A barber's card may only need five or six.
- Give people a head start. A card with ten spaces and the first two already stamped is often finished more readily than an eight-space card that starts empty.
- Add simple terms. State what the reward is, that the card has no cash value, and whether it can be combined with other offers.
Cutting down on misuse
Use a stamp that is unique to your shop, or initial each space by hand. A distinctive design makes a card harder to copy on a home printer, and a date or batch code helps if you change the offer later.
What to print on the card
Use the front for your logo, your name and the offer, and the back for the stamp spaces and a line of terms. Add your phone number, booking link and opening times if there is room. Some shops also use the back for an appointment line, so that the same card does double duty as a reminder.
Sizes, quantities and design
The standard size is 85 x 55 mm. Many shops begin with 250 to 500 cards and reorder as needed. See the business card prices for a guide to what cards of this size cost, and call us for an exact price, since the stock and finish affect the quote. Send your logo and the offer wording and we can lay it out free of charge when we print the job. Add some printed vouchers or window stickers if you want to promote the scheme.
Questions we hear about loyalty cards
What size should a loyalty card be?
Standard business-card size, 85 x 55 mm, fits a wallet. Anything larger tends to get left at home.
What is the best finish for a stamp card?
Uncoated or matt on the stamp side. Gloss can stop stamp ink drying properly, so it often smudges.
Can you print a card with a head start of stamps?
Yes. We can print the first one or two spaces as already filled, which often encourages customers to finish the card.
How many loyalty cards should I order?
Many small shops begin with 250 to 500. A short first run lets you test the offer before ordering more.
